Cables can be damaged during or after installation. Typically the damaged section is hidden from view behind walls, above ceilings or buried underground. Psiber’s CT50 CableTool uses TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) technology to quickly identify an open or a short and provide the distance to the problem location from 0.2 meters, up to a distance of 750 meters.
The CableTool diagnoses cable faults with no launch or dead zone, has an accuracy up to ±2%, injects a tracing tone onto the conductors to trace cables with a standard tone probe and continuously measures voltage on the wires up to 250v with the built in, true RMS voltmeter to warn of a potentially unsafe condition.

The MSolutions USB cable test module allows for integrators to gain a deeper understanding of their USB connectivity through qualification of the cabling used within installations. The tester allows for the DC measurement of the internal wiring.
The module has the capability to measure the power consumption of a USB device by connecting the module between the USB device and the Host – which will allow for the user to view the power draw by the device from the Host.
Determine the USB-C features: USB2.0 (480Mbps), USB3.1 (Gen1 up to 5Gbps), USB3.1 (Gen2 up to 10Gbps), charging, monitor/laptop power, audio support, video and quality.
Test measurements for USB cable types: USB-C to USB-C, USB-C to USB3.0 (Type A), USB3.0 (Type B) to USB3.0 (Type A). The tester will identify and qualify the USB version that the cable has been manufactured to (i.e. 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, DP, ETH)

The optional MS-TestPro DC Resistance and Looper modules, can be used to qualify the DC resistance of a CATx link, and to check the cables ability to provide a sufficient level of PoH (Power over HDBaseT) or or PoE (Power over Ethernet) to the IEEE 802.3bt standard.
The DCR will check for:
1. Loop Resistance which represents the DC loop resistance in Ohm (Ω) of a cable, and is calculated as the sum of the DC resistance of the two conductors in a pair.
2. Parallel DC Resistance Unbalanced for the parallel resistance of the CATx two conductors in each cable pair. For each pair, the difference is expressed in ohms (Ω).
3. Pair-to-Pair Resistance Unbalanced which is the difference in DC resistance between all four twisted pairs in the cable. For each pair, the difference is expressed in ohms (Ω).
