A PVC or Polyvinyl Chloride free cable, means that the cable and cable jacket does not contain any PVC materials. PVC is one of the most common cable jacket materials used, and when
burned will release gases that can become acidic smoke which is harmful and may cause long lasting damage to a person or building.
LSZH stands for Low Smoke Zero Halogen. LSZH cable jacketing is composed of thermoplastic or thermoset compounds that emit limited smoke and no halogens when exposed to high sources of heat or fire. This fire rating prevents the loss of visibility due to smoke, and toxic halogen gases being produced by combustion.

12 American Wire Gauge, also referred to as 12AWG, refers to the thickness of the conductors used inside a cable. 22AWG refers to a conductor being 2.05mm thick in its total diameter.
14 American Wire Gauge, also referred to as 14AWG, refers to the thickness of the conductors used inside a cable. 14AWG refers to a conductor being 1.63mm thick in its total diameter.
16 American Wire Gauge, also referred to as 16AWG, refers to thickness of the conductors used inside a cable. 16AWG refers to a conductor being 1.29mm thick in its total diameter.

Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH)
Uses materials to aid human safety in the event of fire. Low smoke emission aids visibility and breathability during evacuation. Zero halogens are released when the cable is subjected to high heat sources and combustion, preventing the formation of toxic and corrosive gases. This is mostly used in marine applications and throughout Europe.UL CL3
Uses materials to prevent fire propagation via the cable in the event of fire. CL3 is a general purpose standard suitable for vertical trays but not for more demanding situations such as risers and tunnels. Mostly used in North America. -

What lengths and gauges are available?

How does resistance affect speaker cable performance?
Resistance usually affects performance when it is greater than 5% of the speaker’s impedance. There are two key aspects that affect the resistance of wires: the wire length and the wire’s cross-sectional area. Shorter wires have lower resistance. Wire lengths should be kept to a minimum but still separated. Also, ensure both speakers have similar wire length for equal impedance.
Wire thickness or gauge, is the cross sectional area of the wire. Resistance is less with thicker wire or a lower gauge. Resistance is therefore a combination of speaker impedance, length and gauge. -
What is speaker cable?
Speaker cable is the wire used for connecting speakers to amplifiers. There are three key electrical properties of this device: resistance, capacitance and inductance. The most important property to consider is the resistance. Low-resistance wire transmits more of the speaker coil’s power through to the source, resulting in more power and better sound.
